Welcome!
Welcome to HeavyMetalPro.com, the home of RCW
Enterprises and HeavyMetal software, Official software
for BattleTech.
Custom Weapon/Equipment Data Files for Total Warfare
While the current HeavyMetal programs do not completely support all of the
new equipment, Leon Shirow has generously supplied custom weapons files for all
of the programs, making it possible to design using all of the latest equipment.
These files are installed using an automated setup program, which can update
all of your HeavyMetal programs at once. Down the setup from the
Data Files for Programs page.
The Weapon BV Calculator has always been very useful, but now it's been
updated to cover even more. All of the possible missile/cluster hits from
Total Warfare have been included (like17 and 29), maximum range has been
increased to 40, and most important, you can enter separate damage values for
Short, Medium and Long Range (for those Heavy Gauss Rifle lookalikes)! The
expanded range table shows all the values as before, and you can check
calculations the whole way through. Best of all, you can simply save this page
to your computer's hard drive, and calculate weapon BV even when you're not
connected to the Internet. Be sure to check it out!
New HeavyMetal
Pro and Vee Releases with BV2
In an effort to keep up with the never ending changes of the BattleTech
Universe, separate releases of HMPro and HMVee have been made available which incorporates
all of the new Battle Value 2 calculations, weapon BVs and tables from the new
BattleTech TechManual. To help the player, two versions of the
programs are being made available:
for HMPro, V5.1x, with the original BV, and V5.2x, with BV2; for HMVee, V2.0x, with the original BV, and V2.2x, with BV2. You can keep BV, update to
BV2, or even run both. For more information on the differences and how to work
with them, look at the Battle Value versus BV2
page. You can view all the changes, and update to one or both programs, at
the Program Updates Page.
HeavyMetal programs with Vista and Windows7/8/10
All of the HeavyMetal programs run fine on Windows Vista and Windows7/8/10, in fact I use
Vista to
both develop and run the programs. While we're all in a learning process with
the newer Windows versions, please visit the
Running HeavyMetal on Windows Vista/7/8/10 page for the latest in
instructions and information on running the HeavyMetal program on Microsoft's
latest operating system. The bottom line is: YES! You can run your
HeavyMetal programs on Vista and Windows7/8/10, even 64-bit systems. Bill just has some hoops he'd like you to jump
through first!
New RUS Data Files
Additional RUS data files are now being made available. Adding to the
considerable number of data files included with the program, the latest files
include tables from the new Total Warfare book as well as other
sources. So check out the new
RUS Data Files. And if you're not already familiar with RUS, please go to
the
RUS Features Page for more information.

Check out the Total Warfare Q & A for information
about how the new Total Warfare series of BattleTech publications
affect the HeavyMetal programs.
New Map Files for ARTy (Artillery Resolution Tracker)
There are 98 new map files to be used with ART. It's a 30 MB download, but if
you're into using artillery on standard, published map sheets, you'll want to go
to the ART (Artillery Resolution Tracker) web page, at
the bottom, and download them. ART (or ARTy to his friends) is a much-improved, but still FREE, artillery planning and
resolution program, allowing you to specify the weapon and ammo type for your
artillery, select your targets and gunnery skill, and randomly calculate and
display damage based on the standard scatter rules from BattleTech. You
can even display the damage on standard map sheet graphics, and print out the
damage grid, with or without the map sheets. Good for planning
artillery barrages for that next game, and give your enemy a real surprise! A
free program for our customers, you
can see more about ART and download it here. Is your country represented?
HeavyMetal software products are now in use in at least 57 countries (and all
50 of the United States). If you purchased a HeavyMetal program using an APO
address, through FASA, or have since relocated, I may not have your country and flag listed. Please
drop by the Our Customers page and check if your
country is listed. If not, please email
us so that I can add it to the list.
RUS
(Random Unit Selector) V2
RUS, the popular and free random selection program, has been greatly
improved, and is now available for download with a sampling of data files. A RUS
V2 File Creation Project has been begun as well, where we hope to have
eventually available every random table published! Please go to the
RUS Page for the latest information and
downloads.

Dice
Roller
Just one of many services offered here, the Dice Roller page allows you to
randomly "roll" most any type and number of dice, and also roll for number and
location of missile, Ultra, LBX or Rotary autocannon hits. Check out the Dice
Roller here, but don't forget to check out all
the other downloads and information.
