Overview:

The brainchild of a Speedfreak the Greyhound is a fast moving scout mech. Not really meant to get into a fight but rather to scope out a situation and report back to base without being spotted.
Born of the obsession of a speed loving MechWarrior, NAIS, some help from Clan technicians captured during the Clan Invasion and some battlefield salvage, the Greyhound is the fastest scouting 'Mech known to exist. Being only a prototype built from Clan salvage it unlikely it will go into full production.

Capabilities:

The Greyhound can move at extreme speeds which very few MechWarriors can handle. even the Clan Trueborns (captured during the Clan Invasion and employed as test pilots) seem unable to cope with the speed of this mech.

Variants:

The Greyhound concept has also been tested in one other configuration as well, a quad, but the armless offers more protection per location with the same amount of armor.

Notable 'Mechs & MechWarriors:

         J. Garrik - A MechWarrior obsessed with speed he was originally a Locust pilot. as faster 'Mechs were developed he would often try to get himself reassigned to something faster as he believed that speed equals survival (living by the credo "you cant kill what you cant hit") He even vied to obtain a Dasher Clan OmniMech at one time.
So far he seems to be one of the very few who can handle the extreme speeds his current 'Mech (a greyhound) can produced.

Deployment

So far the Greyhound is still undergoing testing at NAIS and at the Wolf Dragoon world of Outreach (in the outback regions testing grounds).
